Knock-Out Filter

Product description

Too much moisture, whether gas is compressed, used as a sealing media or burned as fuel will have negative impact on the performance and endurance of Turbomachinery Equipment. As a final filtration step, coalescing filters are used to remove liquid aerosols. When gas contains liquids or moisture that exceeds 50% of a coalescing filter capacity a Knock Out Filter is used to remove the bulk of liquid/moisture from the gas. On request TM Filters can deliver filtration products that exceeds API 614 requirements and achieve laboratory grade efficiencies as good as β0,2µm > 1000.
TM Filters delivers high efficiency Knock Out Filters that have low pressure drop and maintenance free operation, except when a filter element is installed in addition. Our Knock Out Filters can be delivered as stand-alone units or as a combination with coalescing filter elements in a complete system.

Technical characteristics

Design:

  • Non Welded Filter Systems API 614
  • Pressure vessels acc. ASME VIII, PED or any other pressure vessel code on request
  • Inlet, Outlet, Drain & Vent connections can be fitted to all industry standard connections
  • Sizes ranging from ½-inch to 8-inch in all industry standard pressure classes
  • TM Filters can design the complete filter system to meet customer requirements

 

Internal:

1st Stage: Cyclone Pre-Separator

  • Bulk particle and liquid removal
  • High dirt and liquid loading capacity >5000 ppmw
  • Low pressure drop and high efficiency for bulk particles and liquids (typical efficiency > 90%)

 

2nd Stage: Stainless Steel Demisting Pad

  • Fine droplet removal
  • Liquid loading capacity up to 3000 ppmw
  • Self-cleaning by counter flow drainage of separated liquids
  • High separation efficiency (>95%) for liquid droplets up to 5 micron
  • Self-cleaning by counter flow drainage of separated liquids
  • Low pressure drop due to high porosity (up to 98% open volume)

 

3rd Stage: High Efficiency TM Filter Element

  • Very fine particle and droplet removal
  • Liquid loading up to 50 ppmw
  • Laboratory grade separation efficiency >99.9% for particles >1 micron and liquid droplets
  • High dirt holding capacity and low pressure drop due to pleated micro- and nanofiber technology

 

Housing Material:

  • AISI 316L Stainless Steel
